TOTALLy understaand ^_^ Cats was my first big obsession! I won't allow myself to watch it again because I WILL fall back into that obsession if I do. Skimbleshanks has the BEST song ^_^ Munkustrap is my fave, though, cause he's kinda the story teller. LOVE him!
I actually had the privilege to see it live, not with the actors from DVD, but they were still pretty awesome none the less. I really wish they would've put the Growltiger's Last Stand act into the home release video. I love Growltiger and Gridlebone.
Ah, yes, I've seen the American tour...three times, actually, haha! I got to meet some of the actors during on of the tours backstage. He played Alonzo, and was surprised I knew who the background characters who aren't outwardly named in the musical were. I was disappointed about not having Growltiger's last stand, either.
That's wild. The tour I went to I got there super early so we rode this tour bus around for an hour or so before the play and the guy who was Alonzo's parents were on the bus. Probably not the same tour. But what a coincidence. I didn't get to meet any of the cats...they didn't come out to play. I felt so bad for Old Deuteronomy, he had to sit on stage the whole time during intermission. I need to be in that play. I have my own high end costume and everything.
I know! Poor Old Deuteronomy. It's so funny, because my friend and I were watching him from the aisles, waiting for him to move, haha! And I know what you mean. There was a time I was taking dance classes JUST so I could have a chance to be in that show. How awesome would that be? I would want to play Bombalurina. She's got attitude.
I can't sing, or dance, so I'll just be one in the background...maybe Electra or Etcetera. If I could sing, I would play Rumpleteazer. I already told our local play house if auditions for a local production of cats comes up, I want in.
